Caring Communities - a cooperation with Caritas and Gemeinde Rinn

The project represents a needs analysis in the municipality of Rinn for the development of a "caring community".

The discussions with the project group and the supervisor helped to raise interest and awareness of the "FÜREINANDERDASEIN-network” process in the community of Rinn.

THE CHALLENGE
In cooperation with Caritas, the municipality of Rinn is building a network with the potential to become a "caring community". However, it is not clear whether there is a need for this network and what form it should take. Our task was to carry out an initial needs analysis.

OUTCOMES
After research, data evaluation and discussion of the results, our analysis shows that what is required of the municipality and Caritas is to provide a framework. Caring community is the opposite of one-sided supply-demand relationships between the municipality and the population. Nevertheless, the emergence of bottom-up initiatives requires a certain level of supply that encourages people to become active themselves.
We have therefore derived the following fields of action from our surveys:
- Setting goals and defining processes
- Responsibility: Who is the team?
- Outreach, participation, networking
- Creating spaces for encounters
- Involvement of the younger generation

Partner Statement
The "Caring Communities - Strengthening Care Networks" project aims to create a data and information base as a starting point for the long-term establishment of a comprehensive care network in the municipality of Rinn in cooperation with Caritas. Similar to the successful "Zamm.Wachsen" project in the Stubaital, Rinn and Caritas want to respond to social change and the challenges of the future. The needs of the various target groups were examined through quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews by the student project group, and public educational events were held by the initiators.
The discussions with the project group and the supervisor helped to raise interest and awareness of the "FÜREINANDERDASEIN-network” process in the community of Rinn. We hope for further cooperation between the municipality of Rinn and Caritas to strengthen the FÜREINANDERDASEIN NETWORK.
