  TEACHING & LEARNING Workshop on "Responsible Management Learning & Education” Register now for the workshop on "Responsible Management Learning & Education", which will be held on 18 December 2018 from 09:00-16:00 a.m. After the workshop, the speaker Oliver Laasch will be available for individual consultation for lecturers or also teaching teams wishing to discuss ideas, approaches or plans. Details about the workshop and the consultation are available here. With Dr. Oliver Laasch, we have succeeded in inviting a recognized expert on the subject of "Responsible Management Learning & Education". He is associate professor for strategy at the University of Nottingham Ningbo China and holds a visiting professorship at the Institute for Global Ethics of the University of Tübingen. He also acts as a coach and consultant for companies and universities and teaches at Bachelor, Master, PhD and Executive level including in online formats (e.g. Coursera MOOC 'Managing Responsibly'). In the context of our activities in the field of PRME, Responsible Leadership and Ethics, the workshop is primarily aimed at our heads of department, heads of study programs, lecturers and members of the AoL Group.  We look forward to receiving your registration at pe@mci.edu INNOVATION & INITIATION MCI receives „Honorable Mention“ at the International eLearning Awards for “ePortfolio & Digital Competencies” project The annual International E-Learning Awards recognize the best uses of technology to improve education and job performance both in industry and in an academic division.   TEACHING & LEARNING Is your Sakai website ready for semester start? To help you design and develop a sound and attractive online course, we have developed a checklist as a quality assurance tool which will help you in self-evaluating your course. It will prompt you to reflect on what you have in your course, in what form, and what could be improved. PRME Video Competition "Student Voice on Responsible Management Education" Together with five partner universities in Austria, Germany and Switzerland (PRME Chapter DACH), the MCI PRME team is currently organising the international video competition "Student Voices on Responsible Management Education". Students are invited to present in a short video on how they think they can best learn to become responsible professionals and managers. Information about the initiative can be found at http://www.mci.edu/prme4us We have already received registrations from universities in Australia, Brazil, Ukraine, Malaysia and other countries and are looking forward to many exciting video submissions.  The MCI has the lead in this initiative and we hope that our students will also submit many videos. It would be great if you could promote the video competition to your students. Maybe some of you also see a possibility to integrate the competition into a course. Time is short (submission date 14 October), but maybe it is possible to fit it in here or there. The report is one of the most respected publications in trend research for online education. It describes the trends, challenges and developments in educational technology that have an impact on learning, teaching and creative research and is produced in collaboration with experts around the world. Today we would like to introduce a web-based infographic tool, which helps you to visualize your content and make it more appealing for your audience. Easel.ly is a tool, which allows you easily create appealing infographics, flowcharts, posters, announcements and instructions. All this for free! Application: Visualization of data Advantages: The basic version is free of charge Requires only an email address and a password to register Export function as PNG image in a good quality (in Pro version also as PDF file) Sharing on social networks or as URL Here you will find video tutorials for the tool.  MCI Badges After a successful pilot phase in the academic year 2017/18, carried out in cooperation between Career Services and the Learning Solution, 45 students from various departments have earned badges in the areas of Responsible Management, International Career Skills, Self Marketing and Digital Marketing. Due to the extremely positive outcomes of the pilot project, we will introduce MCI BADGES on a large scale from WS 2018/19. It would be great if you could support this innovative, extra-curricular offer and make your students aware of the possibility of "Boosting your Career prospects with MCI Badges" and actively encourage them to participate. Adobe Connect HTML5 Testversion - Beta Trial Adobe plans to migrate to an HTML5 client that supports all components of Adobe Connect in the fall (presumably). That would be a significant improvement. For example, it will no longer be necessary to install the Adobe Flash Player. Existing customers (= us too) can test the beta version. If you are interested in participating here or viewing the new version, you can register for the Beta Trial using this form.  

  TEACHING & LEARNING AnswerGarden: brainstorming and feedback tool Today we would like to introduce a collaborative online tool for surveys, feedback and brainstorming, which can make your class more interactive and engaging for the students. It allows you to create, share, answer, and manage topic questions without signing up for accounts. The results are presented in form of word cloud and are available for all users.
