The City


Wiesbaden is the capital of and the second largest city after Frankfurt in the state of Hesse in central western Germany.
Wiesbaden is one of the oldest spa towns in Europe. Its name translates to "meadow baths", a reference to its famed hot springs. It is also internationally famous for its architecture as well as climate - it is also called the "Nice of the North" referring to the French city of Nice.
Wiesbaden hosts a number of international as well as German companies, which have their German or European headquarters there. It also counts among the richest cities of Germany.


The University


The RheinMain University of Applied Sciences, Hochschule RheinMain in German, is a university located in Wiesbaden, Germany, and was founded in 1971. Until 2009 it was named University of Applied Sciences Wiesbaden. Now it is part of the IT-Cluster Rhine-Main-Neckar, the "Silicon Valley of Europe".
The RheinMain University of Applied Sciences campuses are partly located in Wiesbaden and partly in Rüsselsheim. The faculties of Social Sciences, Architecture and Civil Engineering, Design - Computer Science - Media as well as the Wiesbaden Business School are located in Wiesbaden, whereas the faculty of Engineering is situated at the Rüsselsheim campus.
