THE CHALLENGE
The website, which had grown organically for almost two decades, was to be broken down into its individual parts and reassembled. The aim of the student project was to transfer all existing and relevant information into a new structure and to develop new design concepts, taking into account the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines. The project approach was from the perspective of User Centered Design (UCD).
OUTCOMES
The students developed two possible structure trees for the new website of the Youth Red Cross Tyrol, which they used as a basis for their design concepts. In order to take on the perspective of the user, the students created representative personas who moved around the website based on fictitious scenarios. By working out one more conservative as well as one more daring design idea per group, the Youth Red Cross was presented with a variety of different design concepts that provided them with a broad basis for the implementation of a new website.
