Catalyst Coding Contest | Freitag, 16. November 2018, 15.00 – 19.00 Uhr | Management Center Innsbruck, Universitätsstraße 7, 6020 Innsbruck Bereits zum zweiten Mal organisiert das Department „Management, Communication & IT - (MCiT)“ gemeinsam mit dem Department Bachelorstudiengang Digital Business & Software Engineering (DiBSE), am MCI, den internationalen Catalysts Coding Contest mit. Mehr als 2.000 TeilnehmerInnen matchen sich gleichzeitig und weltweit verteilt an spannenden Programmieraufgaben. Der Coding Contest zählt zu einem der renommiertesten, größten und erfolgreichsten IT-Bewerbe seiner Art. Auch in diesem Jahr möchten wir alle Interessierten (Einzelkämpfer oder im Team) herzlich zur Teilnahme einladen.  Der Catalysts Coding Contest ist ein internationaler Programmierwettbewerb, der in zahlreichen Ländern auf mehreren Kontinenten verteilt stattfindet, bspw. in Österreich, Deutschland, Israel, Südafrika sowie den USA. In der nunmehr 28. Iteration – zählt er mittlerweile zu einem der bekanntesten internationalen Programmierwettbewerbe, mit 2.000 bis 3.000 Teilnehmerinnen und Teilnehmern pro Wettbewerb. Das Teilnehmerfeld ist breit gefächert - von jung bis alt, Schülerinnen und Schülern, Studentinnen und Studenten, Praktikerinnen und Praktikern kann jeder Interessierte teilnehmen.Durch die Gestaltung der Aufgabenstellung werden alle Teilnehmenden durch mehrere Levels geführt, die aufeinander aufbauen und sukzessive schwieriger werden. Die Teilnehmenden haben insgesamt vier Stunden Zeit. Ein paar wenige schaffen alle Levels, die meisten kommen weiter als selbst erwartet und freuen sich nach der Teilnahme schon auf den nächsten Programmierwettbewerb. Erster Termin am 9.10.2018 um 17 Uhr im InnCubator (Egger Lienz Str. 116 in Innsbruck) FoundHer gibt Dir die Möglichkeit, einfach mal loszulegen und an einem Projekt von der ersten Idee bis zu seiner Umsetzung mitzuarbeiten. Du wirst dabei unterstützt, im Team eine „Geschäftsidee“ für ein Projekt zu entwickeln und dieses innerhalb von 4 Monaten tatsächlich zu realisieren. Jedes Team erhält dazu eine/n eigene/n BetreuerIn, die/der das Projekt begleitet und das Team nach Bedarf unterstützt. Somit kannst Du Tools und Methoden für die erfolgreiche Umsetzung von Geschäftsideen kennenlernen und ausprobieren, und dadurch ohne Risiko wertvolle Erfahrungen in Bezug auf eine Unternehmensgründung sammeln. Teilnehmen kann Jede, die sich für eine selbständige unternehmerische Tätigkeit interessiert. Es ist egal, ob Du eine eigene Idee hast oder nicht. Du kannst Deine eigene Idee beim ersten Termin vorschlagen, oder dort Ideen für ein Projekt aus vorgeschlagenen Themenfeldern im Team erarbeiten. Beides ist willkommen. Interesse? Since this semester the canteen introduced a new system for the ÖH-canteen-discount, in order to simplify the administration that comes with the discount. Students now have to register with their debit cards to be able to consume the 1€-ÖH-discount. Debit cards are used for identification because almost every one uses one and with that in mind it is possible to use just one payment/card-reading terminal for registration. The payment terminal only saves a so called #Hash, which consist of an internally generated card number. This #Hash doesn’t draw any inferences to the respective bank, account number or account holder whatsoever. The eligibility (eligible or not) for the ÖH-canteen-discount will be associated only with this generated #Hash and serves as an identification at the register. MCI students have to be registered at the SOWI-Lounge (not during lunch time), after that they can obtain the discount in all the canteens. Thank you for our understanding. Since 2001, the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) has established bilateral Working Holiday Scheme arrangements (the Scheme) with the Government of New Zealand, Australia, Ireland, Germany, Japan, Canada, Korea, France, the United Kingdom, Austria, Hungary, Sweden and the Netherlands respectively. The Scheme not only facilitates cultural exchanges between Hong Kong and our partner economies, but also helps enhance bilateral cooperation and promotes tourism and development. Under the Scheme, participants may stay in Hong Kong for a maximum stay period of one year. Successful applicants will be issued a working holiday visa by the Immigration Department of the HKSAR. During their stay, they can engage in short-term employment, or even enrol in short-term course(s) (except Ireland). Through these first-hand living and working experiences, the youths from participating economies will be able to acquire a better understanding of the cultural and social developments of Hong Kong.
