Dear MCIs,
The MCI Student Card is now also available digitally. It can be generated as a QR code in the myMCI app and conveniently presented to take advantage of discounts and offers.
- The QR code is valid for the coming semester and is activated as soon as the ÖH and tuition fees have been paid.
- Under the menu item “Student Card” in the myMCI app, students can check the current status of their ID card at any time.
- Despite the introduction of the digital student ID, the physical student card will continue to be used for various purposes, such as for the locking system or library use.
Since the winter semester 2024/25, the note “check myMCI app” has already been printed on all renewed Student Cards by the renewal terminals. If this imprint is missing, it can be added on site by IT Services.
From summer semester 2025, the physical renewal of the Student Card at the renewal terminals will no longer be necessary.
With this innovation, the MCI is proactively implementing the requirements of the Federal Ministry for the introduction of an official, legally valid digital student ID.
