THE CHALLENGE
Since the VCA (Vascularized Composite Allotransplantation) transplant is carried out very rarely and the patients are distributed around the world, an exchange of experiences has been difficult or impossible so far. However, based on the principle of self-help, this would be important when dealing with problems before and after the operation.
The project was focused on the creation of possible fields of action in the areas of legal form, financing, data protection, quality assurance and the creation of a platform to support this exchante. This preliminary research is intended to support the project partners in the actual realisation of the self-help platform.
OUTCOMES
In order to be able to implement the concept of self-help on a platform, external partners and sponsors should first be found. A financing plan can then be drawn up. If the project then turns out to be feasible, an association can be founded. This makes it possible to submit a follow-up application an umbrella organization in order to apply for possible project funding. A website operator can be determined on an ongoing basis and experts sought to ensure the quality. Then a specification sheet can be created in which it is listed which functions should be available on the platform (must-haves) and which could be supplementary (top-adds). External programmers then use this to create the platform.
