The City

Vancouver is a coastal city located in the Lower Mainland of British Columbia, Canada.The largest metropolitan area in Western Canada, Vancouver ranked third largest in the country and the city proper ranked eighth respectively.The city of Vancouver has a population of just over 578,000 and its Metropolitan Area exceeds 2.1 million people. It's residents are ethnically diverse, with 52% having a first language other than English.

Vancouver has ranked as one of the most livable cities in the world for more than a decade. The 2010 Winter Olympics and 2010 Winter Paralympics will be held in Vancouver and nearby Whistler, a resort community 125 km north of the city.

The University

Capilano University is an undergraduate-focused, public, co-educational, teaching-intensive university located in North Vancouver, British Columbia. The university has two regional campuses located in the British Columbian cities of Squamish and Sechelt.

Capilano University has three campuses. The main campus is at 2055 Purcell Way in the District of North Vancouver, on Metro Vancouver's North Shore. It is approximately a 20-minute drive from Downtown Vancouver. The majority of the programs are offered at this campus.
